Specialising in handmade prints, paintings, sculptures and crafts, the gallery shows the work of over 100 UK-based artists, with a new exhibition every month. Situated just a stone's throw from King's College, the gallery is in the heart of the beautiful, historic University city. Since opening in 1990, we have gained a reputation for our extensive range of high quality work and innovative exhibitions of local, national and international artists. The gallery atmosphere is open and welcoming to all visitors. Our friendly staff will be delighted to assist you if you require and we are always happy to provide information about all the artists/craftspeople shown.
Selected by the Crafts Council for the national list of craft shops and galleries, cambridge contemporary art also makes buying art easy as it’s part of the nationwide Own Art scheme, which is designed to make it simple and affordable to buy original, high quality contemporary art and craft. You can borrow up to £25,000, or as little as £100, which is paid back interest-free in equal installments over a period of ten months. The gallery also offers gift vouchers and runs a wedding list service.
Towards the back of the gallery, we have a large selection of art greetings cards.
All exhibitions are free admission and we are wheelchair accessible.
Most items can be sent by Royal Mail or by courier (depending on size) to anywhere in the UK or worldwide.
