Karen's work consists of vibrantly coloured, 3 plate etchings and painterly monotypes, which take the landscape for inspiration. She enjoys simplifying shapes and finding pattern within the landscape. She also likes to add her own touch of wild shape and colour. Using three metal plates for each print is labour intensive, technically difficult, and requires a great deal of foresight. But for Karen, there is no other way to achieve the exciting hues and colour combinations she is looking for.
