Linocut
Image size:
Unframed
Based on the North Norfolk coast, Max Angus' work is often inspired by the everyday environment around her. Angus begins her creative process with sketching, drawing 'anything that moves'. The limited detail she captures with a pencil is just enough to then begin creating the outlines for the linocuts. Colours are chosen dependant on the relationship and quality of the adjacent colours and overlapping blocks. Max aims to limit the prints to four blocks of colour where possible. Trying to keep this limited palette can take weeks of trial and error.
