Robert Fogell
Born 1963. Robert trained as a Sculpture Conservator (Giudici-Martin) working on classical and modern stone sculpture and allied materials in public and private collection around the UK. Following this, Robert completed teacher training (Cert Ed) at Warwick University and taught part-time at Northampton College, Leicester University RAC and Stamford College.
Combining Art Education and his own studio practice has formed a rewarding artistic journey for the artist.
“My studio based at Burghley House Stamford and open to visits and commissions. Conservation commission’s welcome. My work explores the fundamental elements of symmetry and proportion and how they interact with each other. Experimenting with positive and negative mass (space and solid) is part of the process. The sculpture finds itself, in a state of flux, in motion, yet static. Materials include bronze, stone, steel and mixed media.”
